Problem Statement

Yesterday my wife asked me that she wanted to have a motorcycle for short traveling around daily for shopping around my neighbourhood. Then we search the internet to find what kind of motorcycle she is comfortable with. Finally whe choose Yamaha Vino Classic. The price of motorcycle on the road is IDR 13,750,000.-, I try to find information about leasing company, there are two option which one of company ADR propose with down payment IDR 2,900,000,- with 15 monthly payment IDR 1,028,000,-. And then BSN leasing company propose with down payment IDR 2,500,000,- with 17 monthly payment IDR 927,945,- if I want to buy in installments not in cash, which leasing company gives me better offer to choose?

Here in Indonesia, beside in new field there are many oil and gas companies are operatingin a mature field, problems raised when the company faced to manage how to achieve high recovery rates, how to use personnel effectively, how improve production and create an efficient cost structure. That would mean improving business processes, formalizing its corporate knowledge and supporting integrated long-term asset planning and short-term operational planning. As revision from my W8 blog discuss here I want to talk about how could the company introduce workflow improve productivity as well as reduce maintenance cost to increase reliability at minimum cost as part of business improvement.

W5_ASY_Project Evaluation Using ERR Method

Problem Statement

Continue to discuss further using topic from my W4 posting here I want to talk about using ERR for evaluating this project. The tools as discussed in in Engineering Economy Engineering Book, chapter 5, page 178-211. This is introducing external reinvestment rate (ɛ) per period. Just like IRR, ERR is used to evaluate the economic justification of project. But this time ERR that taken into account the interest rate external at which cash flow generated over the lifecycle of project. This method is also useful for solving similar problems as stated in in problem 5-46 at this book. But, instead of using MARR = 12%, in this posting I am using ɛ = MARR 20% because as I am using real life example as described in my blog posting W4 previously.

This time I continue to discuss further using topic from my previous posting on week 3 now I want to talk about laundry service further in this posting. Evaluating a single project using tools as discussed in in Engineering Economy Engineering Book, chapter 5, page 178-211. Introducing concept of Minimum Attractive Rate of Return (MARR) and Inernal Rate of Return (IRR) to see whether the business investment project should go or not.

1. Problem recognition, definition and evaluation

The preparatory AACE certification course with face to face method was just completed. Eleven practitioners were participating in the class room from 26 -30 August 2013 on the course held by PT. Mitratata Citragraha’s AACE/PMI/INCOSE Certification course. The main objectives of this course are to have each of the students successfully complete the course with a passing grade and subsequently pass one of the supported certification examinations in February 2014 at first attempt and return on training investment back to their working office. Understanding the position of the team will help the team understand of where they stand, what kind of leadership is appropriate and also to make individual adjustment in order to make highest result. To determine the leadership style seems as a key factor here that will support the team achieving best contribution as the mission has already stated.
