W9_AFS_ Managing Small Project: Front End Loading


Problem Recognition, Definition, and Evaluation

The new project has been established with name Water Pre Treatment Package Project. The Project objectives are:

  1. To ensure there is no solid particles carry over from water well to WTP
  2. To increase potable water production capacity
  3. To reduce time for backwash activity
  4. To Prevent RO membranes damage due to contamination in its feed water

During FEL-0, Operation people defined that to achieve all of project objective above, we shall install pre-treatment unit at Upstream of WTP. We have selected WBS on the last 4 previous weeks and this time we will learn how to identify document that need to produce during Front End Loading. Continue reading

W4_AFS_ Learning Curves 2


Problem Recognition, Definition, and Evaluation

The new team for AACE class has already completed its 5 days intensive class and formed the team named Simatupang AACE 2014. In regards to prepare the team for long distance class which is has so many tasks that have to be completed, we have to manage our workload effectively to achieve our target. We have done work loading histogram from my previous blog to compare each activity load hours with each baseline 11 hours to do all activities on this course. To get work loading histogram more real, we will apply learning curve to our histogram to see the impact/change. In the last blog, We have exercised the learning curve refers to Engineering Economy books, This time we will try to apply learning curve using Humphrey’s book as reference. Continue reading

The new team for AACE class has already completed its 5 days intensive class and formed the team named Simatupang AACE 2014. In regards to prepare the team for long distance class which is has so many tasks that have to be completed, we have to manage our workload effectively to achieve our target.   2. Set Realistic Deadlines
  3. Create Schedule
  4. Stick to The plan
  5. Take one step at a time
  6. Iron out any distractions

We will try to follow all these tips above with using project management perspective. To help us monitoring our forecast workload then we are creating workloading histogram.

The new team for AACE class has already completed its 5 days intensive class and formed the team named Simatupang AACE 2014 last Friday. In regards to prepare the team for long distance class which is has so many tasks that have to be completed, We are doing Donald Clark’s survey
to know what the stage of the team is on Tuckman Models. By knowing the stage of the team will help all members understand of where they are stand and what type of interventions that the leader should make to achieve all the tasks that have given by the mentor.
