PROBLEM DEFINITION

Currently we are in the start beginning of Execution phase of Topside EPCI project. The baseline duration has been setup. Prior to Kick of Meeting, management is asking project team to estimate the duration of the project in worst case, normal situation, best case and find the duration that “technically justified”.

Cloth diapering is an emerging trends in baby care products nowadays. My wife has been involved in this business retail for 5 years. As the holder of a particular brand, she received a discount of up to 40% of each type of goods. With an average turnover of US$5,000 to resale 500 units per month she thought if by selling her own brand will earn greater profits. The costs of making 10,000 units per year are known as the following: the variable cost (cv) of $2 per unit, the fixed cost (CF) of $10,000 per year. There are known producers who offer for tolling at $4 per-unit cost with the minimum order volume of  1000 units. It is now came for her to choose whether making it or outsourcing it. Problem Recognition, Definition, and Evaluation

The new project has been established with name Water Pre Treatment Package Project. The Project objectives are:

  1. To ensure there is no solid particles carry over from water well to WTP
  2. To increase potable water production capacity
  3. To reduce time for backwash activity
  4. To Prevent RO membranes damage due to contamination in its feed water

During FEL development, Operation people defined that to achieve all of project objective above, we shall install pre-treatment unit at Upstream of WTP. Starting this week, we will follow step by step on project management to perform this project. This week blog, we will define work breakdown structure that fit to this project. Continue reading

W5_ANG_Student Pick-up Service


Problem Statement

In the middle of FAT activity in Dallas-TX, I’ve just got idea to use student pick-up service for the case contributing for Simatupang AACE 2014 blog. This case was triggered that my wife is tired with the traffic to accompany and pick up my daughter every day to her school and then planned to use student pick up service to school. She has checked the rate for go and forth is not expensive; it’s only IDR 500,000 per month so then across in my mind, is this business profitable with that level of price?
